Flamingo Fling

When life gives you flamingo's
[okay Jennifer really gave me the fabric]
you make all things cute!
This is the tote bag panel included in the collection.
I was drawn to add embellishments on the bag front.
I could have gone crazy, but I didn't.
On the completed bag I added large buttons just below
the handles and a fun flower to the neck of the lower flamingo.
I completed 2 flamingo quilts.
I didn't take any progress shots of the 1st one.
This is the block I decided to use on the top
and bottom of the other panel in this collection.

With the leftover odds and ends ... I made a pillow!
While this is a pattern I made several times before I wanted
to add a different touch to this time.  Since I had some of the flamingo
print leftover I added a mini panel in the center of the pleats.
The pillow actually is 16" square and turned out great.

The heart quilt will be shown later.  I plan on taking
the flamingo's with me to Myrtle Beach next week
to photograph.

"Field of Seams: Bittersweet

Having made two projects with "Field of Seams:  Bittersweet"
I can say I'm done with this collection and have
moved on to "Flamingo Fling" which just arrived yesterday.

This is a free quilt pattern from the Studio E website
I pulled last year.  The finished size is approx. 50" x 50".

Wilson and I watched the Netflix series "Wednesday"
so this was sorta inspired her love of black.
This is the beginning of the 20" x 20" pillow
shown above.

Frostykins

How cute is this fabric?  I love the fact that the colors
are vivid, bright and not your 'normal' winter shades.

Gosh, this is a big quilt
[at least bigger than normal].

This is a new pattern I just happen to find that
was perfect for the two large focus blocks.

This is another new pattern that popped into my inbox
one morning while I was drinking coffee.  Since I was looking
for a pattern to use the rest of this collection up
I took it as a sign.

Next up ... Field of Seams [this not a typo!]

Forget Me Not

My latest finishes from the collection called
... Forget Me Not ...
from Blank Quilting

I'm waiting on another winter collection that's being
sent to me from another brand ambassador.  Not sure
why, but I'll take it.  Also working on a lot of
pillowcases for The Hole in the Wall Gang kids.
This helps me move out odds and ends I that
have been taking up room in my stash.

Summer Blooms

From my yard.  Sharing a little nature.

Helping out our pollinator friends with this spread of wildflowers.

I ordered a few packs of speciality Cosmo seeds.
With the rain we've been having we have lots and lots of blooms.
This is another of the speciality varieties.

Completed: Space Cadet

I really enjoyed creating with Space Cadet.
With the leftover pieces I made pillowcases.  I pulled some
Starry Basics from my stash which worked out perfectly.
Quilt #1 using one of the panels in this collections.
This is the back of the quilt below.  I had some black
Jot Dot fabric leftover and added some of the Space
Cadet.
This is the second panel which I cut up into four
blocks. I pulled some Glazed in gray and made
the 9 patch blocks.

Just as I finished this collection I received another Fed-X
package.  What I received is called "Forget Me Not".
It has a sewing theme and I'm thinking about
what to do with it.

"Space Cadet" from Blank Quilting

I took a break from working with the Snowburst fabric collection
and moved on to "Space Cadet" from Blank Quilting.
This collection doesn't ship to stores until August.

I'm trying to get myself caught up on sewing projects before
a new shipment arrives Fed-X next week.  We are
having a surprise visit from the kids in California the
following week so besides sewing I need to get the house
in order.  We will be spending a few nights in Georgetown
with the kids than they will come back here for two
nights before heading home.  It's a quick trip for them
but I know they will pack in lots of sight seeing
stuff.  Not sure how much I will join in during the day
especially if it's blazing hot outside.  I can't even
remember the last time I was in D.C. probably
a million years ago.
