It's Wilson's Birthday ... Today!

Princess Julep resting in her spot knowing she's not going out to dinner with us.
While giving us that 'poor me' look like she's starving they both had dinner before we left at 4pm in the afternoon.  That's two hours ahead of schedule!
For Wilson's birthday dinner he picked Ruth Chris Steakhouse in Annapolis.
Annapolis is about an hour+ drive from our house.
First order of birthday business ... drinks!
The birthday boy looking over the wine list.
I saved my wine for dinner once I saw the martini list.
The Spiced Red Berry Martini sounded so holiday season I had to try it.
Yummy, Yummy, Yummy ... is all I can say.
Starting with appetizers then on to steaks!
I ordered the crab cake appetizer which was 5 ounces of large pieces of lump crab meat.  I didn't think I would eat the entire 'cake' but did.  It had just the right about of 'spicy kick' to it to make you want more. Wilson had an appetizer of fresh lump crab meat resting on a bed of greens.  Then it was decision time for our entrees.  Wilson ordered the Cowboy Rib eye and I settled for the petite Filet Mignon.  Both steaks were heavenly and why wouldn't they be when they come on a sizzling plate sitting in melted butter!
 A very happy birthday boy!
Whiskey soaked bread pudding is what I ordered for dessert.
Wilson wanted cheesecake to take home so they put the candle in my dessert.
Wishing my darling husband a very, very happy birthday.
We had an outstanding meal last night and will try get to Ruth Chris more than once a year!
Across the street from RC was a restaurant we keep saying ... let's try.
One day we'll make it to O'Leary's but it's really, really, really hard when RC is across the street!
RC has valet parking and if you know the Annapolis area - parking is hard to come by.
Driving through historical downtown Annapolis to get back on the road to home.
Annapolis is our state capital and this tree is in the center of town.
Little shops and restaurants line the main street going out of Annapolis.
One thing you can count on when visiting historical Annapolis and that is seeing a lot of young people either in civilian clothing or in military uniforms since the Naval Academy is within walking distance of the town.
Back at home the westies were happy to see us but wanted to go out.
So ... since today is 'officially' Wilson's birthday we may go out to a local restaurant and celebrate all over again!

  1. Your meal and drink and dessert look so yummy, even though I don't eat steaks any more. But years ago i loved Surf & Turf. That area looks so pretty.
