Julep & Derby

Julep is helping me decide what fabric I should use
for the next two quilts for westie rescue.
I like my stash of fabrics and it's nice I can go
and pull out a few selections to see what works
and what doesn't.  I could use more solids in
various colors so that will be added to my list
for when Deb and I go back to PA in the spring.
We decided to go with the black and tan dots for one of the quilts.
Don't think we'll use this one Julep even though
I like the bones fabric we'll put it aside for another quilt.
The snowball quilt top I made previously took me
a long time so in order to meet all the
deadlines for the donation quilts I need to go with simple
blocks and sashing between the rows.
It's hard to see but the sashing between
the rows is the black and tan fabric Julep
picked out above.  I'm thinking the back of
this quilt needs to be bright flowers.
Julep is laying on my newly pressed fat quarter stack
of mushroom & complimentary fabrics.  I found this on the
sale table at the Old Country Store and had to buy it.
Today's project is ... making the 'guaranteed' 4 hour quilt top
one of the ladies in the Guild designed.
 My little boy ... asleep.
Julep saying ... what the heck ... he's in my spot!
... My Connections to the World ...
I'm a Mac person and I'll never look back!
Did I mention Wilson gave me the iPad Mini for Valentine's Day?
I just set it up yesterday and was playing on it last night.
The very first search was for fabric ... just to be sure it was in
proper working order.
... Have A Great Day ...

  1. Oh we have discovered the wonders of a Mac. We kind of like both for different reasons. Have fun and have a terrific Thursday.

  2. You are sooooooooo lucky. Mom doesn't let me up in her sewing/quilting room. She's afraid I'll step on a loose pin. She can be a messy quilter.

  3. You are two very lucky Westies - She can't sew (at all, not even sew on a button) but if She did, or if She was clever enough to be able to do those wonderful quilts, She would never ever let me sleep on the materials!!!

  4. Those four hours guaranteed projects, well I have never encountered one that didn't take more time. Good luck.
    Thanks for being a friend
