Snow Sewing

With the snow and icy weather we are currently having our
internet connection go in and out ... so I'm doing
a longer than normal post just in case we lose it again.
I'm still working on de-scrapping my 6" blocks & 2" strips.
A simple border was added to make this feel 'put together'.
It's another I Spy With My Little Eyes tops.
Playing with a stack of old fat quarters from JoAnn's.
These are not the best quality of fabric and it's time to
move them out.  This block is made by sewing three rows of
6" squares together ... then the unit is cut in half vertically
and horizontally [repositioned] and sewn back together.
A happy modern rocket quilt for a child.
This one has Outreach's name on it.  I love making tops for
Outreach to pass on but I'm waiting for the day that Chris will
say ... we've got enough!
While organizing my shelves of fabric I found this jelly roll
and decided to pull it out and unroll it.  It's very pretty!
Working on several projects at one time.
I actually had three quilt tops in the works.  The scrappy one
is done, pressed and waiting to go to Outreach.  That leaves
me with two.   One jelly roll and the flag blocks.
4 Strips Sewn Together
Yesterday morning I took my coffee to my sewing room and
started to go through my quilt pattern books.  I tossed out a bunch
that I thought I would make [but now know it will never happen].
I'm only keeping patterns I know I will make.  In the weeding out
process I found a pattern that will be perfect for the jelly roll.
Out my sewing room window.
We didn't get the amount of snow the weather folks called for
but the storm isn't over yet!
I hate to admit it but these fabrics are at least 5 years
old and so I felt it was time to move them out.
This is Outreach bound and I really like it but I
simply can't keep all the tops I make because then
I would be considered a hoarder!
Four strip units sewn and pressed.  Today I need to
find a background fabric that will work from my stash.
On my table [since summer] I had a stack of red/white/blue fabric
waiting to make more flag blocks.  I decided just to get them
done.  I gave the first flag quilt to my dentist for his daughter.
Out back yard last night ... tree up lights and snow.
I left our 2 fake trees in the pots by the deck after
Xmas.  I love the way the lights look covered with snow.
Now we are having a little ice event and then more
snow.  I have no place to go so I'll be snow sewing
all day today.  This makes me happy!

  1. Nice that you have all that fabric to keep you busy while it's cold and snowy out
