It's Friday ... are you ready for the weekend?
We Are ... We Are
So Read On!
Julep is looking good but will look even better
after the appointment with the groomer next week.
Ring ... Ring ... It's The Phone
After I fed the westies breakfast the phone
rang and it was Town & Country Liquors calling
to say the case of wine I ordered was in.
OH BOY ... LET THE PARTY BEGIN!
A little history on how we discovered Pere et Fils.
We enjoyed 2 bottles of this particular wine at
dinner with Laura & Cary. They suggested we try it
and we feel in love with it!
Laurent Miquel is a French wine & is not a wine stocked
(meaning on the shelves) in our local liquor stores
so it had to be special ordered for us.
We ordered 1 case & Laura & Cary ordered 2 cases.
It's a very nice everyday dinner wine for under $10/bottle.
Our kitchen wine refrigerator is full but we do
have a 500 bottle wine refrigerator in Wilson's
office for extra wine storage.
Derby watching me put away the wine.
You'll understand the 'dairy' comment in the last post.
Don't worry ... Derby's not drunk.
Who can walk into a liquor store and JUST
pick up what they order and walk out? I personally can't!
So while I was waiting for our lunch sandwiches
to be made from their deli section I started
to check out all the shelves full of beautiful
bottles. In the vodka section I spotted the new
Chambord flavored vodka.
I wanted a bottle - the costs $24.00
A premium French vodka with infused
flavor of real black raspberries.
Chambord Flavored Vodka delivers the floral
aromatics of the
hibiscus flower with notes of vanilla,
white chocolate and the distinctive
flavor of the
original Chambord Black Raspberry Liqueur.
Visit www.chambordonline.com for
recipes to these [as well as other summer] drinks.
FRENCH SPARKLE
FRENCH GINGER ALE
PARISIAN SUNRISE
CHAMBORD ON THE ROCKS
KORBEL KRUSH
... NOW I DID A REALLY BAD THING ...
Out of the corner of my eye I saw a small freezer
next to the deli case full of
The Scottish Highland Creamery ice cream.
THIS - IS - REAL - ICE - CREAM
and it's sinfully delicious. When you
eat this you might as well toss out any thought of
how many thousands of calories are in each spool full.
There are over 600 known flavors and
what's available is at the whim of the owner.
ABOUT THE OWNER
Ice Cream is Victor Barlow's passion.
Victor grew up in Edinburgh, Scotland and
lived above an
Italian ice cream parlor, Mr. Boni's,
that dated back to 1907. He began working
there
at age 15 and later became the shop's manager,
the only person outside of
the family bloodline to
learn the secret family ice cream recipes.
Victor and
his wife, Susan, take great pride in making
the freshest ice cream using local
ingredients,
fresh milk, cream and flavorings imported from Italy.
Of course the westies wanted a taste of the
ice cream & I said 'no'.
Dogs do not process dairy in their systems
{cheese of course falls into this category}.
At some point I may give them a lick off
the spoon {minus the oreo cookie}, but that's it.
ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND
and
HAVE AN OLD FASHION ICE CREAM CONE
WITH SPRINKLES ON IT FOR ME.
Your peeps and my human have cocktails in common.

Check this out and I know you can get it in the US on amazon far cheaper than here. It's really cool.
Have a lovely weekend.
Best wishes Molly
all those drinks look very good. I'm not very much of a drinker and on the rare occasion when I do have one it does have to be ONE. Two do me in believe it or not....lol
