Lady Bug Quilt & Princess Quilt

Ladybug Quilt

My dear Derby ... you want every quilt I make but this

one and the princess quilt [below] have already been

promised to two little girls {Angel & Katerina} who are twins.

 I have to tell you a short story about my hair dresser.

Hope & her husband have a son who will graduate from

Towson State College this year.  Hope's sister-in-law lives

in Colorado with 3 children - twin girls {age 3} and a

boy {age 4} ... the children's parents never married

and to make a long sad story very short - the children's mother

passed away suddenly due to a brain aneurysm. 

 Hope & her husband could not let the kids be split up

and put into the 'system' to be adopted so they opened

 their hearts and totally changed their lives and went for

the legal adoption of these children.

This is really a pretty incredible act of un-selfishish to me. 

 So this ladybug quilt and the princess quilt

will be going to the twin girls.  The little boy {Jack}

likes superhero's so that will be his quilt theme.

 Hope & her husband are taking the kids to Disney

next month for the twins birthday present.

 Both quilts are colorful and happy.

 I enjoy doing the final stage of hand-sewing

the binding all around the end.

 I figured for a simple quilt it takes me approximately

20 hours of work from start to finish.
