Since the holidays are fast approaching and we're packing
our bags for a week in the Outer Banks I did a post on
FB asking for dates of any upcoming westie rescue auctions.
I received several replies and two rescues are having
auctions in a few weeks.  This quilt using the line
'Lake Effects' was added to a new rescue named
"Harbor of Hope".  I've known Karen for several years
on FB and they tend to bring in small dogs like Yorkies.
While I don't make a lot of guy themed quilts this one
turned out very well.  Fingers crossed it has a good
bidding response for "Harbor of Hope".
I have to be honest.  I could never do what those rescue groups do.
The shape most dogs are in when they are picked up is heartbreaking.
By donating items I made it's my way of showing support.
This is collection of items for mom and baby.
This grouping will be added to the Westie Central FB auction
beginning 11/16 thru 11/17.
This is the first time I'm donating a collection of baby items
as a one bid item.
With the baby quilt there are 4 burp cloths,
2 taggies and 2 bibs.  I'll probably make a stuffed
dog and bunny to add to the box.
The pattern is scattered dogs and pups and the colors
work for either for a boy or girl.
We leave on Saturday morning for our drive to Duck,
North Carolina.  I'm praying we have good weather.

  1. Wonderful donations. I think the quilt should do well. Lots of people like the wildlife theme.
I have to give people who work with rescued animals a lot of credit. I don't know if I could handle working with animals in such bad shape.
