Are we there yet? Duck Day #1

Julep is what you would call a back seat driver.
This girl doesn't want to miss anything along the
road to our vacation destination.
Heading south to the Outer Banks of North Carolina and
a little town called Duck.  This will be our home away from home
for the next week ... rain or shine!

The CB Bridge/Tunnel takes us right into Norfolk, VA as well
as the Virginia Beach area.  From this point it's a pretty
easy drive to our final destination.
...
... LIFE IS GOOD ...
Our little semi-beach front rental for the week
We are one house back from the ocean and the beach.
But since this house is on a dead end street we could toss a
stone at how close we are to the little board walk to the beach.

All granite counter tops in the kitchen and pretty much every utensil
you would need to cook anything.  Cookbooks available if
you need them [some of which we added to house collection].

Looking for the westies?  Well, you will find them here just
waiting for that bunny rabbit or single red tailed fox to
come out and run across the lawn.
They love it here and I would venture to say they are both
 obsessed with watching and waiting.
 This house has many decks!

I'm glad we got to enjoy at least one cup of morning coffee
on the top deck because our weather forecast doesn't look
great for the rest of the week.  That's OK - we have lots to
keep us busy and a fireplace to light for coziness.  We also
picked up a nice bottle of wine and a few steaks for dinner.
My busy work ... 4 quilts that need binding hand sewn on.
I'm happy to report this quilt is now done.  It belongs to my
quilting guild so I'll take that back to them in November.
... Wishing the rain away ...

  3. What an awesome place! The Westies must love it there! The salt air has lots of good smells for them! As you know my GrandDog is a Westie and he makes some of the very same faces! Enjoy your Duck Time!
