It's Monday & It's Cold!

While the westies enjoy the sun by the front door
I finished taking down all the Christmas crap decorations
yesterday.  Half the fake tree is in the trash and now I'm
on the hunt for a nice 7-1/2' pre-lite tree that's easy
to put up and easy to store.

Half Square Triangle or Bow Tie Block
A few days ago I started working on Valentine's Day
quilts for grand kids Kaitlyn and Cole.  I set a picture
of this to Mommy Sarah and she showed it to
Cole ... the reply back was don't forget about St. Patty's
Day and Easter quilts.  At least I know they are appreciated
[and anticipated] which makes doing this well worth it.  At some
point [relatively soon] the reply will be ... don't send me a
quilt - just send me money.
This is not a great picture because you can't see the sparkle in
the red/white/pink heart fabric nor the shiny silver dots on the
white fabric.  I'm still playing with the border on this quilt.
Originally this was going to be Kaitlyn's but I'm now thinking of
the aqua/red fabric [below] so I'll see which one she likes better.
Today I need to finish up a few table runners that I'll be
mailing out to a westie group in Florida as a fund raiser.
Along with those I'm donating a quilt and a set
of pillowcases.  I hope they bring in a fair amount of $'s.

On another note ...
Old Man Winter finally found us.
"Winter is the time for comfort,
for good food and warmth,
for the touch of a friendly hand
and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home."

  1. It's cold here, too, and Finlay has already had to have two baths for digging in the back garden, naughty dog! :/
