Playing With Fabric ... But Then Again ... What Else Is New!

The westies love the little rag quilt I made.  I'm not sure the reason.
Maybe because it's new or because it nice and soft to sleep on.
I took the 6 yards of westie flannel and whipped
up three sets of pillowcases.
This set went to my friend Dorene who use to groom
Julep and Derby until she moved to Gettysburg, PA.
This set I'll put away for a rescue fund raising auction.
Wilson has a new personal trainer at the YMCA.  He
was telling me that she's a 'birder' ... meaning she loves
everything birds.  I happen to be looking thru the sale section
of fabric from Hancock's of Paducah {that's in Wilson's
home state of Kentucky} and found this nice selection
of fabrics.  I'm still debating on the pattern.
The coordinating fabrics blend nicely with the birds.
This fat quarter set was on sale for a very reasonable
price so I grabbed one to stash away.
I have no idea what I'll make with this selection.
I have a good start on my next project for the kids.  This
will become a runner for the bottom of their beds.
A Memory From My Past
I remember my Aunt Gerry telling me [a long time ago] that
if you're going to make one [of something] it's just as easy to make two
[or in this case three].  My aunt was a baker extraordinaire and
she applied this to her baking of cakes.  She was also a
sewer who made me Barbie clothing.
'Cole' is done.  I still need to make a few more letters
... N [two more needed], Y and K.  I'll also be making four
sailboat blocks to make Cole's runner longer.   If things
go as planned I hope to get the construction of the runners
done by next week.
