Nautical Lap Quilts & Not So Happy Westies

The westies are not happy campers because it's hot outside.
We can't go for walks and will I let them stay outside
for no longer then 10 minutes.  We are ready for fall because
this heat is a killer.
For Savannah
I was on a roll to use my nautical fabric. I
whipped these simple lap quilts up quickly.
There is a lady in our quilt guild that loves to make the back
of her quilts as interesting as the front.  I took inspiration from
her creativity and added this to the back.
I saw a pattern for this design on sale and I thought to myself
who is going to pay $4.99 for directions.  It's such a simple
block I estimated the block size and here we are.

The third and final nautical lap quilt.  This is in the mail
to one of my Facebook friends who has a beach home
in Virginia.  I hope she likes it.
This is the back of the quilt above.  While going through my
fabric I found some leftover blocks from a quilt I made
several years ago and thought they would be perfect to add
for a more interesting back.
My first practice starfish pillow is on it's way to
Savannah with the first nautical quilt pictured above.
The two mini-terriers and the doll hat [below] also went
to Savannah.  I think she will be happy when she gets her
box of goodies from me.
Keep cool and have a nice weekend, Katie.

  1. Our Westies aren't happy because we're at the lake and it's too hot for them on the boat.....They're napping now, but I did take them on an almost thirty minute walk at 6:30 AM.
