From The Sewing Room Today

Here is the start of a new holiday quilt using the jelly roll called
Petites Maisons de Noel by Moda.  Chris D. from our quilt
quilt sent around a reminder for this weeks Outreach gathering
and with that sent out a new pattern as an attachment.
Since I had a jelly roll begging to be made into something
I decided to give Chris's pattern a try.  It's really super-simple.
You start with picking out 5 2-1/2" strips and sewing them together.
This is shown in the first photo.
The next step after the strips are sewn together and pressed
is to cut them into 10-1/2" pieces.  You get 4 sets out of one
strip set if you cut carefully.
Now the fun begins by laying out the blocks in the
pattern I have shown above.  From there you sew the rows
across then you sew the row to row and
you are done.  Pretty simple and pretty quick.
This is made by request of my sister for her mother-in-law.
I just need to sew on the top and bottom then it will
be ready for quilting and gluing on crystals.
The bird blocks have fallen a little behind schedule
but will get done soon.
