The Backyard

Derby
If the goose isn't in the yard and happens to see me from afar
he starts heading my way.   He wants a free meal.
Our resident ducks.  No babies for this pair this year.

I had no luck growing sweet peas in the garden last year.
I put a few seeds in a pot and so far so good.
Hollyhocks
Lantana for the hummingbirds.
Our ginkgo tree wasn't happy so we decided to cut it down.
I started the process by removing the few branches it
had.  Now every bird has decided it's a great place to rest.
Hummingbirds are hard to photograph.
This is the best shot I could get.
For this year we'll be leaving the ginkgo as is for the birds.
The view across the pond from our porch.
I haven't seen a deer in a long time and was surprised to see one
in daylight.  They do have a night time path through my flower bed
because they like to snack on my hydrangea
bushes.  I sprinkled rabbit and deer repellant around
the base of those plants so they don't eat them to the ground.
